Pottery Barn Chairs Turn Star Wars

I got these chairs as a set of 4 at a garage sale up the street. And then they just got so beaten up and the green color was never an optimal choice for me.  I had fixed up the other two and was left with these.

I painted them (didn't even prime. shhhhh) and was looking for Star Wars themed material online. They weren't too expensive but the good ole Target had Star Wars sheets which were a bargain too cheap to pass up.  Anyway, after a bit of paint and some staple gunning, here are the before and after pics.

Its a bit sad that my 6 year old just told me he no longer cares for Star Wars, that Harry Potter and Ninjago are the new favorites.  Oh well, this will teach me not to sit on a project for too long... or maybe I'll search for some new material to redo again.

My new project, updating an old chair

We used to use these green chairs at the kitchen table. We got them at a yard sale for pretty cheap. They are pottery barn.

I hope to paint it black and upholster the seat area.

Living room gets a rug--finally

After waiting over 2 months, my rug is finally here.

The Before Shot--without rug

The After Shot--the great reveal

I'm working on adding a little color into this monotone room: see lemons and the bits of yellow. hoping to get some bright pillows. the one on the couch is temporary, I think.

I went looking for a bright yellow vase but failed. Instead, I made do with a vase and filled it with lemons.

I also took some pictures of the house in its "lived-in" state.

And finally our upstairs guest room. I spent an afternoon hemming my king quilt to a full...by hand.

Landscaping completed--need fence now

Even though the seeded grass took pretty well, we ripped it all out and put in sod as well as prettied our landscaping.  Here is the before:

This is our front yard now (you can see Seth at the top of the stairs)

Saturday, Ron Benson, our fence guy will be in to put in a fence around our yard.

here are pictures of the back yard:
