My new project, updating an old chair

We used to use these green chairs at the kitchen table. We got them at a yard sale for pretty cheap. They are pottery barn.

I hope to paint it black and upholster the seat area.

Living room gets a rug--finally

After waiting over 2 months, my rug is finally here.

The Before Shot--without rug

The After Shot--the great reveal

I'm working on adding a little color into this monotone room: see lemons and the bits of yellow. hoping to get some bright pillows. the one on the couch is temporary, I think.

I went looking for a bright yellow vase but failed. Instead, I made do with a vase and filled it with lemons.

I also took some pictures of the house in its "lived-in" state.

And finally our upstairs guest room. I spent an afternoon hemming my king quilt to a full...by hand.

Landscaping completed--need fence now

Even though the seeded grass took pretty well, we ripped it all out and put in sod as well as prettied our landscaping.  Here is the before:

This is our front yard now (you can see Seth at the top of the stairs)

Saturday, Ron Benson, our fence guy will be in to put in a fence around our yard.

here are pictures of the back yard:

Getting settled, getting sassy!

Now that we've moved back in, have days without subs in and out of the house, I've been able to start making our "renovation" into a "home."

Here are some pictures I have taken today bc we had purchased some chairs a while back and Greg finished putting them together tonight :) for mother's day.

we had these ugly country looking green wooden chairs. they've now been replaced with these dark wood ones assembled by Greg.

I also took some more pictures of the downstairs.

Powder room--the art above the toilet is a water color by Mrs. Sorgi.  She was the lady who lived across the street from us in Manhasset when we first arrived to the US

This is a picture of the hall way.  This is what you see when you come into the front door.
